QAHE Highlights Accredited Institutions Across Multiple Regions, Emphasizing Scope and Renewal of Quality-Assurance Reviews

PORTLAND, Ore. — September 15, 2026 — The International Association for Quality Assurance in Pre-Tertiary and Higher Education (QAHE) is highlighting a selection of accredited institutions across Europe, Africa, Central Asia, and Asia to illustrate how its quality-assurance framework applies to institutions and academic programmes with defined accreditation scopes and published validity periods.
The examples include institutions and faculties in Cyprus, Liberia, Iraq, India, Kyrgyzstan, Cambodia, and Uzbekistan. Their profiles demonstrate differences in institutional missions, national regulatory environments, academic disciplines, and the scope of QAHE accreditation. In several cases, the institutions also hold recognition or accreditation from national authorities or specialist organizations.
QAHE is an independent, non-governmental quality-assurance organization that evaluates educational institutions and programmes according to its stated accreditation procedures. Accreditation decisions are made for the institution, faculty, or programme specifically identified in the relevant decision and do not automatically extend to affiliated entities or branches.
Among the examples is Altınbaş Cyprus University, which operates within the higher-education framework of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Its published academic regulations cover associate, bachelor’s, and postgraduate education. QAHE’s accreditation applies to the identified Cyprus entity rather than being inferred from the name or activities of an affiliated institution in Türkiye.
In Liberia, BlueCrest University Liberia offers programmes in areas including information technology and business administration. Public institutional information identifies undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, while national regulatory documentation includes authorization from Liberia’s higher-education authorities. QAHE’s published listing identifies a defined accreditation period running from August 25, 2026, through August 24, 2027. The accreditation is an additional quality-assurance designation and does not replace national authorization requirements.
The Faculty of Dentistry at Al-Turath University in Baghdad provides another example of programme-level review. The university dates to 1988, while its dental faculty was established in 2018. Its five-year Bachelor of Dental Surgery programme includes pre-clinical and clinical education covering areas such as oral surgery, orthodontics, periodontics, prosthodontics, and paediatric dentistry. QAHE’s accreditation and renewal decisions concern the identified faculty and its academic provision rather than automatically applying to every unit of the university.
In India, KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research (KAHER) in Belagavi is a deemed-to-be university with established national academic credentials. Public records identify its NAAC A+ accreditation and other institutional distinctions, while its research activities include collaboration with international and national organizations. QAHE has accredited and subsequently renewed the institution’s accreditation, providing an example of a process in which accreditation status is subject to a defined review cycle rather than being presented as permanent.
Kyrgyz National Agrarian University (KNAU) in Bishkek illustrates the distinction between institutional and programme accreditation. The university provides bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral education, while QAHE has separately identified bachelor’s programmes in electrical power engineering and electrical engineering for programmatic accreditation. The distinction allows the scope of an accreditation decision to be identified at the appropriate academic level.
In Cambodia, Preah Sihamoniraja Buddhist University (PSBU) in Phnom Penh offers undergraduate and postgraduate education in areas including humanities, social sciences, business, and education. The institution has also been associated in public records with national and international education organizations. QAHE has accredited the university and subsequently renewed its institutional accreditation following further review.
The School of Dentistry at Central Asian University in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, provides a further example of programme-specific review in a professional discipline. The school offers a five-year Doctor of Dental Surgery programme taught in English, with academic and clinical components. QAHE has published accreditation information covering the institution and programme on defined cycles, including subsequent renewal.
Across these examples, the accreditation records show that QAHE’s published decisions can differ according to the entity and academic provision under review. Institutional accreditation, faculty accreditation, and programme accreditation are not interchangeable designations, and the existence of accreditation for one entity does not by itself establish accreditation for an affiliated organization or programme.
The cases also demonstrate the importance of considering accreditation alongside the applicable national regulatory framework. National authorization, professional registration, degree recognition, and external quality assessments remain separate matters governed by the relevant authorities and organizations.
By publishing accreditation information with defined scopes and validity periods, QAHE provides a public record through which stakeholders can identify the institutions, faculties, and programmes covered by its decisions. The organization states that accreditation is subject to its review procedures and that renewed status requires a subsequent assessment.
